Role Description
Role Description: Understand the business problem and synthesize project objectives. Explore and understand theclient’s data landscape. Observe the current system in operation and gather and analyzeinformation about each of the component problems using a variety of sources. Study and analyzeinfo about alternative courses of action to evaluate outcomes. Break systems into theircomponents, assign numerical values to each component, and examine the mathematicalrelationships between them. Migrate data from internal sources to centralized data repository if needed and ingest data from external sources. Define data requirements and gather and validateinformation, applying judgment and statistical tests. Identify business problems or managementobjectives that can be addressed through data analysis. Identify relationships, trends or factors thatcould affect the results of research. Propose solutions in engineering, the sciences and other fieldsusing mathematical theories and techniques. Design, conduct and evaluate experimentaloperational models in cases where models cannot be developed from existing data. Formulatemathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions,alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters. Perform validation and testingof models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary. Develop and implementArtificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms. Apply feature selection algorithms tomodels predicting outcomes of interest, such as sales, attrition, and healthcare use. Clean andmanipulate raw data using statistical software. Apply sampling techniques to determine groups tobe surveyed or use complete enumeration methods. Analyze data to identify trends or relationshipsamong variables. Apply mathematical principles or statistical approaches to solve problems inscientific or applied fields. Determine appropriate methods for data analysis. Compare modelsusing statistical performance metrics, such as loss functions or proportion of explained variance.Develop scientific or mathematical models. Prepare analytical reports.
Develop and apply time and cost networks to plan, control, and review large projects. Collaboratewith senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarifymanagement objectives. Present the results of mathematical modeling and data analysis tomanagement or other end users. Coordinate and communicate with client leadership teams toensure timely completion of project task, ensure high quality of deliverables and plan for workallocation. Ability to think of possible risks in the projects and action plan to mitigate the same.Build POCs for data projects to navigate decisions for product enhancements. Ability to think ofcomputationally efficient and business effective analytical solutions. Deliver oral or writtenpresentations of the results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or otherend users. Create graphs, charts, or other visualizations to convey the results of data analysisusing specialized software. Identify business problems or management objectives that can beaddressed through data analysis. Identify solutions to business problems, such as budgeting,staffing, and marketing decisions, using the results of data analysis. Collaborate with others in theorganization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions. Advise others onanalytical techniques. Analyze information obtained from management to conceptualize and defineoperational problems. Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solvea variety of problems and to clarify management objectives. Liaise with senior leadership toanticipate future pipelines and build skillsets in the team. Design surveys, opinion polls or otherinstruments to collect data.
